FLOW MODES
PUMP
Creates a steady flow that runs continuously giving a prevailing current and good movement in the open water areas of the aquarium, adjustable on the digital controller between the minimum and maximum power settings of 30 and 100 . Ideal in a reef situation when multiple circulation pumps are in use, mixing this flow pattern with pumps running pulse, wave or random programs can ensure good flow throughout the aquarium. Also suited to planted aquariums or fish only aquariums where constant flow is beneficial.
PULSE
The speed of the pump will alternate between a low and high power setting and can be used to set up a standing wave. The frequency and power settings can be changed on the controller . Pulse mode is well suited to corals that prefer high energy wave patterns such as those found on the reef crest.
WAVE
A constant wave output is created as the pump ramps up and down between a minimum and maximum power setting giving a sine wave effect. The frequency and power settings can be changed on the controller to adjust the length and size of the wave. This flow pattern will create a gentle wave simulating deeper reef or calmer lagoon environments making it ideal for more LPS or soft coral dominated aquariums.
STORM
A completely random wave pattern is created by the controller simulating a chaotic reef environment where the flow is constantly changing . The pump will automatically switch between constant, pulse and wave patterns at different time intervals alternating its power settings. Ideal for stirring up detritus so it can be removed by filtration.
